Mass chaos and a security system

Today was relatively slow for me in terms of daycare. Just my neighbor's kid, who is 9, and my friend's twins, who are 6. My own 4 slept in past 9 so we had a late breakfast with them. By the time I was ready to take the kids out to play and ride bikes, my ADT guy (Pat!!!) showed up for the install. I thought they were coming in the afternoon. So the kids played Wii while Pat and I chatted while we waited for the technician to show up. Let's see, that's 7 kids, and 3 adults once the tech got there. Oh yes, and a half crazed DOG! While they played Wii, and cheered and fought and made general noise, the tech was setting off the alarm intermittently, which really added fun to the chaos. Then my daycare mom and my little Allie Cat showed up to drop off their check. They probably thought I was going CRAZY!!! So at that point, hm, that's 4 adults, 1 dog and 8 kids. In my tiny shoebox house!! Once the extra adults left, it was temporarily quiet. But we still didn't get outside because by then it was lunch time! I let them have a "picnic" in the playroom because in the meantime, my friends Linda and Tracy came over for our shoebox club. So at least I had a quiet time for a bit. Until David and Isabelle BOTH had terrible bouts with diarrhea. I'm so sick of that - between the twins and the dog, I've cleaned up more watery stinky crap than normal people deal with in a year!!!

We're off to karate shortly, then dinner and baths and showers for ALL the kids! And swimming lessons tomorrow... It just doesn't end!

Oh, and did I mention Dave is out of town????

The Power of Cell Phones

Verizon has this awesome program called Chaperone that I just downloaded to our phones. With this I can see exactly where Meagan is at any time with the mere push of a button! I can also set up "zones" and I get a text message whenever she enters or leaves a zone. (I am SOOO glad my parents didnt' have access to these tools when I was a teenager!!)

So yesterday, Meagan wanted to go to her Gram's house and pick up her belongings that she was going to store there, but since they have parted ways (another blog), she wanted her things back. Lucky me gets to store them in the attic now when she eventually leaves for the Navy! Anyway, after she left Gram's, I'd asked her to go to Rockville to pick up the crate for this lovely dog we have. (Yet another blog topic!!) Of course, she got lost, called me crying hysterically saying she thought she was in Bowie and didn't know what to do. I told her to go to a gas station, show them my directions, and get on the way. She called shortly thereafter, calm, and said she knew where she was and she could actually see her exit! Another hour later, I checked her location - and she was nearing the 695 interchange in BALTIMORE!!! And, I could see from my savvy little program that she was traveling at 70mph!!! haha, so I called and told her to turn around and SLOW DOWN! Eventually, she found her way and got back, after sitting in a couple hours of traffic. What a ding-a-ling!
